Kim Kardashian: I really love and respect what I do on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians'

Los Angeles: Reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who has been participating in strange photoshoots of late, says she's not doing it to distance herself from her family's reality show 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians'.
The 34-year-old has participated in an increasing number of photoshoots in the past year, and rumour had it that there's a purpose behind it.
Kim says that while she still enjoys filming the show, she also wants to explore fashion in a bid to be more "edgy and cool", reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"I'm not purposely trying to do it to get out of reality-TV world. I'm doing it because I think it will be really fun, like edgy and cool. I love fashion and it's something I want to be a part of," LOVE Magazine quoted Kardashian as saying.
"But I still really love and respect what I do on my show. We're going into our 10th season and we've been on air longer than many classic shows. We've had more episodes than 'I Love Lucy'," she added.
The 10th season of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' will be aired on March 15.

Word! Twinkle Khanna's column on hypocrisy of AIB roast haters is a must read

The All India Bakchod roast, which was uploaded on YouTube on 28 January and taken down a couple of days later, continues to be a subject of never-ending arguments. The members of AIB, stand-up comedians who used to be fairly active on Twitter, have gone eerily quiet on social media following the lawsuits slapped against them. To add insult to injury, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has now come out and very sanctimoniously declared that the AIB Roast was 'violent' and that he had scolded friends Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor for participating in it.
While most of Bollywood has either stayed quiet or backed AIB, actor-turned-interiordesigner Twinkle Khanna has now written a column on The Times of India underlining the hypocrisy behind raging at the roast in a bid to save Indian culture where the real issues of the country are getting no attention.
She points out that while the entire country is busy being offended at trivial things like these, nobody seems to be outraging over serious issues. She explains how very few people seem to be leading an outrage brigade against the Sardar Patel statue in Gujarat or the Sivaji statue in the Arabian Sea. The statues will cost the states thousands of crores and Khanna asks why no one sees the irony in that, considering that only 10 percent of the country's children have the means to study beyond higher secondary.
Then she argues that while a grouse people had with AIB's roast was that it made fun of a person's sexuality, again, very few people seem to actively and continuously protest the fact that Section 377 continues to be a legal reality in India.
"The jokes about dark skin offend us because deep down, some of us idiotically think that having dark skin is a shortcoming. Would we be as offended if jokes were made about having fair skin like, 'You are so fair that you were thrown out of the Nirma washing powder commercial for being whiter than the washed shirt.'?", she writes.
Writing for the Times Group itself, Khanna says that the AIB roast is less offensive than Arnab Goswami shouting at people he invites on his show on Times Now - a Times Group channel.
While initially the Internet was trampled by coarsely worded outrage - by ones offended by the roast and by ones offended at the AIB haters - an interesting dialogue around issues of free speech is unfolding in the country at this moment. Aamir Khan's slightly dubious stance on the Roast, very recently, invited sharp criticism from Russel Peters who is slated to perform in Mumbai soon. He said"Seriously, who is he, the so-called artist, to say that he found it violent and that AIB and rest involved should have been responsible? He did not even see it! Someone please ask him to shut up and take care of his own business."
The reason that Twinkle Khanna's support for AIB is refreshing, is that she is one of the few seniors in the industry who have spoken up on the issue, backing the actors and the comedians who participated in the roast. While most other senior actors and A-listers stayed quiet in public - perhaps in fear of stirring a hornet's nest - Khanna went ahead, despite her husband, popular actor Akshay Kumar's silence on the issue.
In contrast to an Aamir Khan, who chose to play to the galleries that at present are echoing with misplaced concerns about bharatiya sanskar, Khanna calls a spade a spade.
In pointing out that more Indian should be concerned about something like lack of education rather than their questionable ideas of what endangers 'Indian culture', she just says that the angry AIB hater is a jobless one, frothing at his/her mouth about completely irrelevant issues.
The fact that religious groups have managed to find the time to lodge an FIR and participate in a time consuming legal process to cut a bunch of comedians to size shows how superficial their concerns are.
Khanna effectively asks, have any of these groups bothered about the fact that so many children from their own clan are being denied formal education? Have they taken up cudgels again a stronger adversary like a political group or the state for that purpose? Obviously not, because that would require conviction and determination. Whereas ranting at the AIB will earn them fifteen minutes of television glory and keep them in the illusion of having done something for the society.

Taylor Swift shares 'profound' relationship with fans

Singer Taylor Swift says her most `profound` relationship is with her fans, and she believes that developing her music year-after-year helps her to `nurture` this bond.

Swift says she constantly works on the `core` relationship she has with her fans, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

`People always talk to you about marriages and relationships, and they say relationships take work, and you have to keep surprising each other.

`And that I think the most profound relationship I've ever had has been with my fans. That relationship takes work, and you have to continue to think of new ways to delight and surprise them,` she said.

The 24-year old singer also said that she felt like she was able to take risks with her latest album `1989` because of the special relationship she shares with her loyal supporters.

`You can't just assume that because they were gracious enough to make you a part of their life last year, that they're gonna want to do the same thing this year. I think that core relationship needs to be nurtured,` she added.

Jennifer Lawrence knows what she wants in a guy

Actress Jennifer Lawrence says she wants a man who allows her to be herself in all situations.

The 24-year-old star told Madame Figaro magazine that the guy for her is "one who allows the woman to be herself in all situations."

"Otherwise, you might as well stay single," she added.

The Oscar winner is currently on a press tour for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1", releasing Nov 21, reports eonline.com.

It took Lawrence three days to say yes to the role of Katniss Everdeen (her character in "The Hunger Games" series) when it was first offered to her.

"I realised that whatever I do, at any level, I would lose a part of my private life. For each 'everyday' photo published, I generally spent three hours playing cat and mouse with photographers," she said.

Keira Knightley's hat disguise

Actress Keira Knightley says she likes to wear a hat to disguise herself when she goes out.

The 29-year-old confessed on ITV's show "Lorraine" that she enjoys sporting some headgear while stepping out with husband James Righton, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

When asked if she puts a hat on to disguise herself when she goes out, she replied: "Yep. That is exactly it, you can hide in a crowd quite easily. It's lovely. I love it. (We) can argue about who is doing the shopping. It's great."

Talking about her latest film "The Imitation Game", Knightley admitted that she wasn't as endeared to the cardigan and shoes that she had to wear for the film.

"It's all in the cardy (cardigan) and the shoes. The shoes were uncomfortable, that helped, and the cardy ... there's something about that really heavy, itchy knit."

"It was so thoroughly itchy. I suffered for my art, I suffered for my cardigan," she said.

Aniston finds Theroux 'quite special'

Actress Jennifer Aniston says her fiance Justin Theroux is "quite special" and credits him for helping her find a personal and professional life balance because he is a "beautiful equaliser".

"He is a beautiful equaliser. He's a really beautiful, wonderful partner. He's quite special," accesshollywood.com quoted Aniston as saying.

Although Aniston and Theroux got engaged in 2012, they haven't yet set a wedding date and hence their relationship has been scrutinised ruthlessly, but Aniston insists that she now finds the speculation "comical".

"I think we're just so uninteresting, we don't do anything, that there's no real narrative other than that to sort of slap onto us. Then, once we do (marry), it's gonna be well, it (already) is the babies. I mean, it's comical," said the 45-year-old.
